The problem

A growing economy with unequal outcomes

Exploitation without equity

Mainstream platforms monetize BIPOC and AAPI culture without giving back — amplifying stereotypes while shadowbanning the very creators who set the trends.

No safe space to own the trend

No dedicated, algorithm-transparent space exists where diverse stories drive the culture. Communities create the value; platforms keep the power.

The answer: ownership

GroCORN flips the model — community-first moderation, fair creator pay, and cultural preservation built into the core, not bolted on later.

0of Gen Z BIPOC would leave mainstream apps for an identity-centered platform

Unlike mainstream, generalist social platforms, GroCORN combines social commerce with community-first governance.

The opportunity

A massive market hiding in plain sight

GroCORN sits at the intersection of creator platforms, marketplaces, and ad-tech — an underserved cultural economy that mainstream platforms keep leaving on the table.

  • 1.5 million Black Canadians today — projected to pass 3 million by 2041
  • A young market: roughly 42% of Black Canadians are under 25
  • Expansion path: Canada → U.S. → global cultural markets

Who we build with

An emerging marketplace, not a static brand site

GroCORN is an emerging social commerce marketplace, not a static brand site. Revenue builds in phases — a community-funded MVP first, then marketplace transaction revenue and brand partnerships as the network matures.

For grant partners

Technology-led economic empowerment, built with the community

The platform is designed to lower the barrier for BIPOC and AAPI creators and small businesses to reach paying customers — measurable outcomes, not aspirational ones.

  • Institutional conversations aligned with CMF, FedDev and IRAP
  • Digital skills and monetization tools for underserved founders
  • Cultural preservation through the Culture Vault archive
For investors

An emerging marketplace with layered revenue

Not venture capital yet — community capital first. The MVP is donation funded.

  • Marketplace transaction revenue as the network matures
  • Brand partnerships with BIPOC and AAPI-owned businesses
  • Subscription tiers once the app ships

The product

One platform. Multiple engines.

Creator content feed, marketplace and services, gift cards, the Kofi Table Talk media network, and analytics — every module feeds the same community flywheel.
